Obsessive Compulsive

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a mental health condition characterized by recurring, distressing obsessions and compulsions. Obsessions are intrusive, unwanted thoughts, images, or urges, while compulsions are repetitive behaviors or mental acts performed to alleviate the anxiety caused by obsessions. OCD can significantly impact daily life and functioning. Treatment options include cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), and medication (such as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors or SSRIs). A combination of therapies is often the most effective approach for managing OCD and improving a person’s quality of life.
